PERSEPHONE and her brother Ajax are classical tabby kitties. The Persephone of mythology was sought after by a God and our girl believes she should be worshipped too! But thats typical of all cats though, right? She is verbally demanding of head rubs, which she loves, but do NOT touch other parts of her. She most positively does not like that! Well, not unless she offers you her belly which happens every now and then. Curiously she tends to throw herself on the ground with her tummy exposed but usually just out of your reach.
AJAX is the second of the pair of gorgeous tabbies, and has (probably) the longest tail of any cat in history. This boy is renowned for the shrillest cry should the biscuit box ever run low, resulting in his nickname of “squeaker”. Ajax has another peculiarity too. Whilst I realise that you should not really poke fun at your beloved pets, it cannot be helped when Ajax runs. He flings his back legs outwards in the most ridiculous style as he trots along. It makes me laugh out loud each time I see him do it.
Both Ajax and Persephone like to hunt and we often see them stalking through the long grass of our neighbours fields. Not the nicest part of living with kitties, but probably an inevitable one if you let them play outside.
